In different parts of the world particularly in our country there is a huge demand for expertise services in health care. There is a need in our society for empowerment of women. Keeping these in view we have decided to start one Nursing College in Midnapore Town, named as “Pratima Institute of Nursing and Health Science”.
Dr. Pratima Ray, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., was the first Donor Member of Midnapore Education and Service Society. She also served as the Vice President of the Society from 02.11.2009 to 11.01.2017.
She served as Lecturer of Raghunathpur College, Purulia (1965-1966), Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Burdwan (1966- 1996), Reader in Midnapore College, Midnapore (1996-2002) and Reader of Sanskrit, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore (2004-2007).
She left for her heavenly abode on 12th January, 2017 at the age of 75. To commemorate her contributions we have named the Nursing College as Pratima Institute of Nursing and Health Science.
We have taken assistance of Jangalmahal Educational and Welfare Trust to develop the required infrastructural and instructional facilities for this Nursing College. Glocal Hospital, Midnapore is our Parent Hospital.
We have already obtained required Permission from the State Govt. and Approval of the West Bengal Nursing Council and Affiliation of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences. We have also obtained Approval of the Indian Nursing Council bearing no: 18-32/15709-INC/591 (For GNM) & 18-32/15709-INC/592 (For B.Sc.), dated: 24.05.2023.
